Moroccan Style

So I have decided that I want my new room to have a theme and using what colours/accessories I already own, I have decided on a Moroccan theme. I love all things intricate and colourful and ethnic. My colour scheme will be plum, gold and cream. I do not want to splash out lots as I don't know how long I will be residing at this place - at the least a year though. The past few days I have been scouring the internet looking for inspiration and stumbled across these decor photos as well as a few accessories. I chose them because of the richness of plums and aubergines and patterns. Gorgeous!

My ideas are to purchase accessories to give my room that Moroccan feel...

*Tea Glasses - I really love these that you get from Arab countries and thought they would look pretty in a tray my room...

*Gold/Cream/Purple cushions - Just to match with the rest of the room and make my bed look all cosy...

* Henna candles - A girl on my FB who specialises in Henna designs has recently ventured into Henna candles and they're so so pretty and intricate. I would love to display a set in my room...

*Moroccan Bowl/Plate - I am not sure what I would use it for at the moment - fruit maybe?

*Rug - I have been searching for a plain rug or two-tone rug but haven't found anything at the moment...

*Vase - I don't think I will look for a Moroccan style one...possibly a plain cream or purple one as I would love to start displaying flowers in my room again. I love them... :)

Well that's all for now.

I am almost all packed for my move on Saturday which I am looking forward to...

Packing...

So it's the first week of my Easter holidays and so far all I have done is pack.... and cook..lol

I packed quite a bit last week but then decided to unpack it and sort through EVERYTHING properly as I don't want to take stuff to my new place that I just won't use. So far so good I will be donating 3 bags of things to charity. I have even seperated them into clothes, books and shoes! I actually only have papers to sort out, makeup, cookware and jewellery to pack and then I am done. Despite the fact that I have been organised and labelled each box, I dislike packing as you come across 'junk' you forgot about or haven't used. I can't believe how much I have accumulated over the past 2 years here...thankfully I am donating my unused art materials and other things.

I think I much prefer to unpack as you can reorganise all your things and rearrange everything...I am actually really excited about moving into my new place...I want my room to have a theme this time...I'm not going to go all out and that but just by using accessories to give it that feel. I will tell all in the follow up post..

On another note I cooked quite a bit yesterday..well to last until the end of the week..
I cooked a Kashmiri Chicken Dish yesterday which turned out well depsite dropping way too much paprika into the pan :S ( Yes the lid came off and I was like Nooo!) But tasted delicious in the end...

Later on in the evening I just cooked fusilli pasta with a tomato and mascarpone sauce which was also delicious. That is probably the worst thing about being on holidays, I tend to eat more :S Well after I have moved I intend to start back at the gym as I want to tone up for the summer :)

Well I better get typing the next post ...

A Beautiful Sunday...

I thought I would do a 'Face Of The Day' this week. I took this quick snap before I left for work this morning as I loved the makeup I wore today.
With all this gorgeous weather this week I am finally feelin' my colours again and I love it..!!
I dug out my No7 Stay Perfect Liquid Eyeliner in Aqua/Teal ( I think) and the staying power is absolutely amazing. It is a perfect dupe for MAC Liquidlast Liner in Aqua and is beautiful!

On another note for the past few weeks my skin has been terrible...I have been getting tiny spots on my skin. I think it is due to the change in weather and it could possibly be due to the fact I switched moisturisers so I have reverted back to using my Vitamin E Illuminating Lotion in the day and Boots Tea Tree and Witchhazel gel in the evening. It has been improving this week which is good news!

Anyways here is a breakdown of the makeup used today:

Face: LM Foundation Primer
        LM Tinted Moisturiser in Sand
LM Secret Concealer in 03 - blemishes
MAC Moisturecover Concealer in NW20 - eyes
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW25 - blemishes
        Kryolan Translucent Powder in T6
        TBS Baked Bronzer in 02

Eyes: MAC Paintpot in Painterly
        Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Sable
        TBS Shimmer Paletter in 06
Collection 2000 Liquid Eyeliner in Black - LOVE this product!
UD 24/7 Liner in Zero and Flipside
No7 Stay Perfect Liquid Liner in Aqua/Teal
        Diorshow Mascara in Black

Lips: Papaya Lip Butter
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss in Clear
Rimmel Moisture Lipstick in Nude Delight
Barry M Shiny Lipgloss in 04

I have been pretty good and restrained myself from buying makeup for the past 2 months... Although today I popped into Topshop as last week I tried on a gorgeous coraly-pink lipgloss in Hollywood from their own makeup range and fell in love. I went back to purchase it and I also purchased another lipgloss in Nude. They are gorgeously pigmented with a sheer finish and feel so moisturing on the lips. I asked the SA about them as I could not find them online and she told me that they were introduced a long time ago and that they were trying to get rid of them. I am glad I bagged them and will be wearing them lots during the summer months :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I am so happy I realised earlier today that I have 2 weeks off work now for Easter :D But I will be packing and unpacking!!

Tracks I'm diggin' at the mo'...

I thought I would do a music post as I don't think I have done one before.
It's just a quick post of some tracks I love at the moment :)

* On The Floor - Jennifer Lopez ft Pitbull - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4H_Zoh7G5A

* Can't Get Enough - The Black Eyed Peas - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrTyD7rjBpw

* Don't Hold Your Breath - Nicole Scherzinger - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4nKOzk8qbw

They really energise me and uplift my mood and they're also perfect for working out :P

Jewellery Haul...

Yesterday after work, I nipped into Topshop as earlier on in the week I noticed that a pair of earrings I had been eyeing for months had gone into the sale. Although they were half price ( £8.25 instead of £16.50) I was stil contemplating whether I should purchase them or not..well I did because I loved the style of them and I thought they would go great with a plain coloured outfit rather than fusing lots of prints and patterns together.

I also popped into Oasis just for a mooch really and saw these pretty crystallized bracelets in Amber. They also had them in Rose Quartz but I thought the Amber one would go with a lot more things. The bracelet is nice to jazz up any outfit and I can see myself wearing it a lot this summer.

I have noticed that during the cold months I tend to wear less jewellery, by less I mean I don't tend to reach for my necklaces or bangles/bracelets. I HAVE to wear earrings and rings - it's like I feel naked without them...lol.

I love how the weather is becoming warmer now as I feel like I can really dig out all of my  jewellery as I feel it really defines who I am...creative and arty :)
