What look am I rockin'? ... Valentine's Day Romance ♡

Hey...I hope you are all having a lovely V Day/weekend :)

So I was doing some school work and I actually completed it  ( yes I know usually I procrastinate for a little :P) before I decided to jump on the bandwagon and decided to give it a go at creating my own 'Valentine's Day Look. I even styled my hair!

So I watched two videos as I wasn't sure what kind of look I wanted. They were from Farah Dhukai ( amazing makeup artist!) and Jaceyln Hill (another makeup artist who I just heard about today and I really liked her look). I combined Jaceyln's look with mine. I wanted something soft, subtle but girly. When I finished my look I opted for a bright lipstick colour but felt it was too much so I softened it a little and loved it! I have posted some pictures below and the product details too. I hope you like it and feel free to experiment too :)

February Favourites: Beauty

Happy Valentine's Day y'all. I hope you are having a lovely day with you loved ones whether they're  family, friends or partners ♡

Okay so I was up this morning thinking about the jobs I need to get done and then I thought about doing a 'Favourites' post. I don't think I've ever done one of these so enjoy!

So these products have been used pretty much everyday for the past month. They are listed below:

1.MAC blush in Peaches - ( I LOVE this! Why did I not know about it before?!) It's a sheer tone blush which means it comes up light but you can build up the colour. The colour payoff is beautiful- really natural looking.

2.Sue Moxley Baked Highlighter in Miami  - I purchased this about 2 years ago and it is still going strong. The highlight is subtle and provides a really nice glow when accentuating the cheekbones, nose and cupids bow. It's  a shame this is not available anymore but it just means I'll be getting more use out of my 'the Balm Mary Lou - Manizer  highlighter' :)

3.Anastasia Beverley Hills Contour Kit - I adore this palette. It has a range of shades to suit lots of skin tones. It really provides some good shades to contour the face well. I use it everyday!

4.Anastasia Beverley Hills DipBrow Pomade in Chocolate - Okay so yes I heard the hype about this product and was pretty amazed when seeing the results and staying power on makeup artists on YouTube. At that time I was using the Sleek Brow Kit which was fine but not so great for longivity so I bought it and tried out. It does require playing around and experimenting. I can safely say after a month I can apply it well and my eyebrows still look natural.

5.Laura Mercier Eyelash Curler - I LOVE this eyelash curler. It has to have been the best used so far and it curls my lashes SO well. I used to use Models Own and then tried Sephora but I found them too stiff but the LM one is small, compact and gently curls the lashes well.

6.Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder in #1 - I had read from  a lot of blogs that setting your undereyes is key. So I initially tried the Ben NYE Luxury Powder in Banana which is okay but I much prefer the LM one. It is lighter, silkier and brightens the eyes subtly.

7.MAC Satin Lipstick in Sushi Kiss - Another purchase I am glad I made. I am really loving corally/orangey/pinky lips at the moment. I guess I am already feeling Springtime :) This is a beautiful colour paired with my Peaches Blush gives me a nice glow. I do layer it with a gloss which I will mention below.

8. Barry M Lip gloss in Coral - I have always been eyeing this colour but never bought it until a month ago and I have literally been wearing it ever since. I remember reading a blog by blogger Tanya Burr and thinking it looked really pretty. It is really pretty when paired with coral/pink lipstick. It lasts for about 1-3 hours at the most on me before I have to reapply. It is such a gorgeous shade and a gloss I will definitely repurchase.

So I really hope you liked reading about my favourites as much as I have selecting and writing about them.

On a side note, school has been crazily busy and it's sad to say I am not as ecstatic as I was about it when I started in August but I will save the reasons why for another blogpost.  On a more exciting note, I am off to Oman Insh'allah next week when February Break starts which I am SO looking forward to.

Livin' it up in Kuwait: Al Qout Market, Arraya Center Carpark Rooftop

Hey so as I am on a little spiel with my blog as I thought I would review Al Qout Market.

I had been wanting to visit here since I found out about it via instagram but something always came up! Alhamdulilah I finally went to check it out today with a group of friends which was really cool.

It's a decent sized market with food, clothes, art and music. I LOVED it! It really reminded me of the markets back home in London. So we wondered around and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and tasted lots of food!

The food part of the market was interesting as it was predominantly healthy Arabic food as well as sweet treats too. The gluten free and non free cakes were AMAZING but my favourite was the Strawberry Cheesecake popcorn. That was heavenly. I am seriously going to hunt it down! For brunch my friend Anna and I decided to go to Juicy Weiner where I had a mac & cheese hot dog (yes macaroni and cheese on top of a hot dog was intriguing so I had to try) it was tasty too! Anna opted for the scrambled egg topping which she enjoyed and we both her blueberry and ginger lemonade which was lovely and refreshing.

Walking around there was a mix of people from Arabs to expats, families,  trendy teenagers and children. It was a nice atmosphere.

I really enjoyed looking at the art and crafts which were pretty and cute. However the only downside of this was the prices. They were pricey but I feel I will be back next month to pick up a few gifts for people when I return to the UK for summer :)

Overall I will rate this market  as 9/10, it had a great vibe, awesome mix of people and a diverse range of market stalls. So be sure to visit it next month as soon market season will be over!

I LOVE Oils!

So when I was little, around 7/8 years old. Every Saturday my family and I used to go around to my Nanni's house. It was a weekly gathering where I would get to spend time with family and play with my cousins. Usually towards the end of the evening my Nanni would call each of her grandchildren to have their hair oiled and their head massaged. It was heavenly! I continue that tradition to this day and I am now 27 years old.

Oiling the hair and massaging the scalp is healthy and I believe essential if you want silky, smooth and glossy locks. You can use a range of oils. My Nanni used to use olive oil or almond oil. Below is a photograph of the oils I currently own. I like to mix oils as they work well and also help to dilute much thicker oils like castor. So I tend to oil my hair once a month.

At the moment I use The Body Shop Polynesia Monoi Oil. I love the scent and consistency of this oil and you can use it all over your body too. I mix this with a little castor oil (shown in the Vatika Almond Oil bottle). Castor oil is a thick oil which I recently got into using thanks to Farah Dhukai. It has amazing benefits to luscious hair and also improving the growth of you eyelashes and eyebrows (I am trialling this at the moment so will let you know how it goes in about a month). I apply the Monoi  and Castor on my scalp and massage it down. Then I use Argan Oil which I bought from Morocco (at a dirt cheap price might I add) to the length of my hair and ends. I prefer to leave it in for the duration of the day but today I left it in for just over an hour and it still gave me great results! Please bear in mind that you will have to wash your hair out at least twice to ensure all the oil is removed from your hair. You can let it naturally dry or blow dry and honestly the results are amazing! Also please note that it takes time to get great results so applying infrequently may not result in the same outcome I got.

Next up and lastly is Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Oil. I think I mentioned this on my blog a few years ago when I blogged about my skincare. I LOVE this OIL. I used to work at The Body Shop when I was at university and they sold a Vitamin E oil but now it is way too pricey and I feel it doesn't deliver half as well as this one. I was gutted when I ran out here in Kuwait so once I was back in the UK I stocked up on 2.

So I use this oil for my face and I apply it at night as this oil works best then. I do apply it daily unless I have a mother of a zit and then I don't as I apply spot gel. But yes on a daily basis I massage this into my skin and neck. You only need like 2 drops. It helps reduce the appearance of scars and marks too. When you awake in the morning your skin will feel as soft as a baby's. No kidding. I swear by this product and have used this for well over 3 years. I even got my mom and sister into using it that's  how good it is. So we'll done Superdrug and please, please don't discontinue it!

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Sara xx
